【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesameansofdetermininganabrasionrate(weightandcalculatedaveragethicknessloss)whencomparingmaterials,coatings,pavings,orliningsundertestconditionsthatwillbesubjectedtoabrasivebedloads.Theimportanceofthisinformationisrecognizedwhendealingwithculverts,stormandsanitarysewerapplications,althoughthelasttwogenerallydonothavethesamedegreeofabrasionduetotheflatterslopesandlessbedloadsthanculverts.Specifically,theinvertofthesetypesofpipe,regardlessofthematerialused,canbeexposedtoflowscontainingabrasivebedloadsorsolidparticulatesthatcausewearingofthepipewall.Bysubjectingmaterialstowearinthebedloadabrasionmachinewithacontrolledbedloadchargemadeupoffineaggregateandcoarseaggregateoveraspecifiedperiod,acomparisonoftheresistancebetweenmaterialscanbeestablished.Thistestmethoddoesnotsimulatetheeffectofabrasivematerialstrikingtheupstreamfaceofcorrugations,aswouldbetypicalforcoatingmaterialswhichdonotcompletelyfillthecorrugations.Note18212;Caution:Thistestmethodusesspecificquantitativevaluestoencouragerepetitiveresultsanddoesnotconsidervaryingbedloadcharacteristics,ratioofwatertobedload,velocity,timeoractualfieldconditions,andtheeffectofexposededgesonlaminates.Theusermustuseextremecareincomparingonetestresulttoanotherbecauseoftheseandothervariables.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureforcomparingmaterialsusedforcoating,pavingandliningcorrugatedmetalpipebyuseofabedloadabrasiontestingmachine.Theprocedureattemptstosimulatetheeffectofstone,gravelandsandcarriedbyastreamthroughcorrugatedmetalpipe.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
