【摘要】:Reflectiveinsulation,radiantbarrierandvinylstretchceilingmaterialsareevaluatedinaccordancewithTestMethodE84tocomplywithbuildingormechanicalcoderequirements.Thispracticedescribes,indetail,aspecimenmountingprocedureforreflectiveinsulation,radiantbarrierandvinylstretchceilingmaterials.Thematerialshallberepresentativeofthematerialsusedinactualfieldinstallations.Specimenpreparationandmountingproceduresformaterialsnotdescribedinthispracticeshallbeaddedastheinformationbecomesavailable.ThelimitationsforthisprocedurearethoseassociatedwithTestMethodE84.Thispracticeshallnotapplytorigidfoamplasticswithorwithoutreflectivefacers.Thispracticeshallnotapplytosite-fabricatedstretchsystemscoveredbyPracticeE2573.1.1Thispracticedescribesaprocedureforspecimenpreparationandmountingwhentestingreflectiveinsulation,radiantbarrierandvinylstretchceilingmaterialstoassessflamespreadandsmokedevelopmentassurfaceburningcharacteristicsusingTestMethodE84.1.2Thispracticeisforreflectiveinsulationmaterialsandradiantbarriermaterialsintendedformechanicalfasteningtosubstratesorbuildingstructuralmembers,orintendedtobemountedtoasubstratewithanadhesive.1.3Specimensofreflectiveinsulationmaterialsandradiantbarriermaterialsintendedformechanicalfasteningshallbepreparedandmountedinaccordancewith6.1.Specimensofreflectiveinsulationmaterialsandradiantbarriermaterialsintendedtobemountedtoasubstratewithanadhesiveshallbepreparedandmountedinaccordancewith6.2.Ifthereflectiveinsulationmaterialorsheetradiantbarriermaterialincludesmanufacturerrecommendedinstallationinstructionswiththeoptiontobeinstalledeitherbymechanicalattachmentoradhered,theinsulationmaterialshallbetestedbybothmountingproceduresasoutlinedin6.1and6.2.1.4Specimensofvinylstretchceilingmaterialsshallbepreparedandmountedinaccordancewith6.1.Note18212;Vinylstretchceilingmaterialsaremechanicallyfastened.1.5ThispracticeshallapplytoreflectiveinsulationmaterialsandradiantbarriermaterialsasdefinedinSection3.1.6Thispracticeshallapplytoreflectiveplasticcoreinsulationmaterialsasdefinedin3.2.3.Reflectiveplasticcoreinsulationmaterialsareonespecifictypeofreflectiveinsulationmaterials.1.7ThispracticeshallapplytovinylstretchceilingmaterialsasdefinedinSection3.1.8Thispracticeshallnotapplytorigidfoamplasticswithorwithoutreflectivefacers.1.9Thispracticeshallnotapplytosite-fabricatedstretchsystemscoveredbyPracticeE2573.1.10TestingisconductedinaccordancewithTestMethodE84.1.11Thispracticedoesnotprovidepass/failcriteriathatcanbeusedasaregulatorytool.1.12Usethevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsasthestandardinrefereedecisions.ThevaluesintheSIsystemofunitsaregiveninparentheses,forinformationonly;see
